Free Sources for Actual Official MBE Sample Questions

If you are looking to see what Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) questions look like, here we link to some of the free sources of actual official MBE sample questions that are released by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE). These are the best resources to consult because they are real MBE questions rather than questions that a course made up. So they are the closest to what you will see on the real bar exam.

If you are not familiar with the MBE, a quick overview is as follows:

The MBE is a test that is administered over six hours (two three-hour sections). There are 200 MBE questions total that you will be expected to answer. 175 MBE questions are graded and 25 are unscored test questions.

The MBE covers seven subjects:

The NCBE releases a helpful subject matter outline if you want to see the basic scope of what is tested for each subject. The subject matter outline is pretty short (about a page per subject). Note that the MBE questions themselves are quite nuanced. So, the subject matter outline should just be used as a roadmap of the general concepts you have to know.

You can find free actual official MBE sample questions here:

Note that if you wish to access the “best” NCBE questions, you will have to purchase them as companies may not make these questions public. And, they are required to pay the NCBE a licensing fee every time the company gives a student access to questions (so you probably will not find any on google!). You may find questions invented by courses on google. And it is okay to use course-invented questions, but proceed with caution as these are not as good as the real questions. And some of them are misleading with regard to how MBE material is tested.
